SDT started working on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technologies in 2006, entering into a business partnership in the first sensor development project in this field in Turkey.
Since then, studies have continued unabated in such areas as SAR sensor algorithm development, image forming, signal processing, both on the platform and on the ground, the detection/diagnosis/recognition of targets from images provided by SAR sensors, etc. Developed by the ASELSAN-SDT business partnership, SARPER, the national SAR Sensor, has seen active use aboard the ANKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
